It was a busy week with Easter, a few orders, a particularly busy time at work, and a longer weekend for us than just the ANZAC weekend as we headed away to regional VIC.
Before I went though, there were two cake orders - one for work to celebrate two staff leaving (one abroad, and one to retirement) and a birthday cake. It's been a hot minute since I have made big cakes, so naturally I started with a FOUR LAYERED cake :D
When I know a cake is going to somewhere with lots of people, I like suggesting to top cakes with Favourites or other varieties of candies or chocolates; there's always something for everyone!
On our way out the city I dropped off the second cake - chocolate on chocolate and lots of fun colours! I am of the opinion that cakes should be able to be eaten without disassembling it, therefore I try and use chocolate options and buttercreams before other techniques that will be less enjoyable to eat.
In these cakes I did chocolate sign writing, chocolate blended buttercream, and coloured ganache. The candies on top of the cake are also delicious flavours, not just for show.
Both of these cakes were an absolute joy - maybe your next cake could be one like these huh?
